Nicole's Pay It Forward Post

Part 1

"Pay It Forward" is a movie that is about a boy makes a attempt to change the world for the better after being given a Social Studies project by his new Social Studies teacher. Paying it forward means that you help 3 people out and they do the same and the next thing you know it starts a chain reaction.

Part 2

What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?

My act of kindness was that me and my group of friends ( Norien, Nikka, Beverly ) went to Children Hospital and gave the patience there some treat bags, we were going to volunteer but you needed to be at lease 14 years of age and go through some identification course. We also dropped by the gift shop to buy some stuff toy, all the money the gift shop gets will be donated to the Children's Hospital Research Foundation.

Why did you choose this activity?

I choose this act of kindness because I hate see kids so little suffer from sickness and knowing I could give them something so simple like a treat bag can brighten there day. And maybe one day i might be in that hospital and I know I would be really happy if I've gotten something like that.

Who did you help?

We helped the patients in the Children's Hospital.

What did you do?

We gave them treat bags fill with toys and cookies. It the treat bag there were also little notes that had little quotes like " Don't let anyone tell you can't do anything, because I know you can. " .

When did you do you act of kindness?
My group and I did this act of kindness on Novmber. 14, 2011 at lunch time .

Part 3

How did your act of kindness go?

I felt really good, knowing that I just helped someone brighten there day up . And also donating some money for researching for a cure for there illness.

What Happened?

We went to the Children's Hospital at lunch on November.14 and gave them the treats that we made, then they gave as like a plaque for all are work. Then we took some pictures with some workers there. After that we went to the gift shop were we bought the stuff animals in the video above.

How did you feel?

I feel really good inside knowing that I made a act to help people and thats doesn't have any benefit to me at all, and knowing that I did this act not because I was force to but because I wanted to makes me fill like I might actually be able to motivate other people to do the same.

How did the person or people react?

I think the workers that were there were overwhelmed because they didn't expect so much grade 8er's from Sargent Park to be there and doing this, but they felt happy that we did. They were also really proud of us grade 8er's for the act of kindness we are doing and how were trying to change the world for the better.

Did you ask the person or people to "Pay It Forward"?

We asked them by show them the note I had in my duo-tang that explains what "Paying It Forward" meant .

How did they react to your request?

They reacted really well knowing that kids our age are actually trying to make a change in the world.

Part 4

Why is the idea of "Pay it Forward" important?

Because if you "Pay It Forward" you can start a chain effect of acts of kindness everywhere that will change the world for the better, and it will teach people that you don't need to know the people you help to help them.

Has your act of kindness made a difference?

Yes, I think it made a difference because now kids at the hospital know that there are people in the world that think that they can get through sickness and that people out there care if they make it or not.

  2. Good job to you and your partners! You guise made a big difference! And they would remember this day and would thank you. You explained everything in details. The video was pretty long 'cause it was suppose to be up to 2:59, but still it was very nice of you to help those kids. I hope you won't stop doing this act of kindness because you will help more people and someday, they won't need our help anymore! Great job guise, it also looked like you guise had fun while making a difference!
