Divide 100 by 10 = 10.

10 new Caribou.

10 + 100 = 110

Second Year:

Divide 110 by 10 = 11

Mulitple 11 by 2 = 22
110 + 22 = 132 Caribou

b)

There wasn't a 30% increase because the second year, it is 20% off of the 10% in the first year (20% increase of the 110 caribou)

Week 1:

\$85.00 divided by 2 = 42.50

Week 2:

42.50 divided by 10 = 4.25

\$42.50 - \$4.25 = \$38.25

Find the total cost including 5% GST and 7% PST.

This is the calculation I did to figure out the final price with taxes included:

4.99 x 2 = 9.98

9.98 + 3.99 + 19.99 = 33.96

33.96 x 0.12 ( add the GST and PST- which makes 0.12 ) = 4.07 ( tax money )

4.07 + 33.96 = \$38.03 ( final price, taxes included too.)

13.) A ski jacket has been marked down on three occasions, first 20% off, then 25% off the new price, and finally 50% off the previous price. What is the overall percent saved?

This is the calculation I did to find the overall percent saved:

For example, if the jacket was \$100,

100 x 20% ( 0.20 ) = 20

100 - 20 = 80

80 x 25% ( 0.25) = 20

80 - 20 = 60

60 x 50% ( 0.50) = 30

60 - 30 = \$30 ( final price )

\$100 - \$30 = \$70

\$70 divided by 100 = 0.7 ( 70%) ( savings )

12.) a.) What is 115% of 230?

115% ( 1.15 ) x 230 = 264.50

Bar Graph- Th advantages are best for comparing data across categories.

Line Graph-
The advantages are best for showing changes in data over time.

Double Graph-
The advantages are best for comparing two sets of data across categories.

Pictograph-
The advantages are best for comparing data that can be easily counted and represented using symbols.

Circle Graph-
The advantages are best for comparing categories to the whole using percents. The sum of the percents in a circle graph is 100%
